Mom Is A Special Person

The hand that rocks the cradle makes the house a home

The loving kindness of a mother keeps the family growing

Mom rises early in the morning and bathes her day in prayer

She talks to God about her family placing them in His care    

She communicates her love in a thousand different ways

When there's a need, she shows up, whether it’s night or day 

Mama seasons life with love and gives so much of herself

God put in her the best of him and made her unlike anyone else 

When challenges come their way and when trials block their view

Mom kneels down beside her bed and prays her children through

Mother is God's special creation, a light shining in the dark

Illuminating a path for her kids while pointing them to God

Mom’s a nurse when they scrape their knees

She’s a maid when they don’t wipe their feet

Mother’s the fashion designer when clothes don't match

She’s the tailor when pants needed a patch

Mama is a teacher when her children have questions

She’s the spiritual advisor when they make their confessions

Mommy is a psychiatrist when they come home crying

She’s a spiritual teacher when they get caught lying

Mom is the singer who sings her babies to sleep

She’s a proverbial lifeguard when the waters get too deep

She's a love that's everlasting worth more than diamonds and gold

And today and always God celebrates you dear mother

You’re a sacred treasure to behold!
