You are Valuable to God (a poem written by Naadia)

Refuse to be discouraged

To be sad, or feel dissatisfied

Don't become downtrodden

Here’s the reason why

There is a God who’s mighty

He’s sovereign and supreme

You have a God who loves you

And wants you on His team!

He’s all wise and powerful

God Almighty is His name

Though everything is changeable

God remains the same

Your life is but a weaving

Between the Lord and you

He chooses the colours of the yarn

And you both work for the breakthrough

The dark threads are as needed

In the weaver’s skillful hand

As threads of gold and silver

In the pattern He has planned

He’s aware of all that’s happened

From your beginning to the end

So let His presence be your comfort

Allow Him to be your friend

When sickness comes to weaken you

And sink your heart so low

Call upon the Almighty God

Into His arms you can go

When circumstances threaten

To rob you of your peace

He’ll draw you close into His breast

Where all your strivings cease

And when your heart melts within you

And weakness takes control

He’ll gather you in His arms

And sooth your heart and soul

The great “I AM” is with you

Your life is in His hands

Let the Son of God be your hope

It’s in His strength alone that you can stand

So, refuse to be defeated

Keep your eyes upon God

He has promised to be with you

As through this life you trod

Look beyond your circumstances

To heaven’s throne above

Where seated beside the Heavenly Father

Is His precious son

He has heard your hearts cry

With the gentleness of a dove

Your plea has reached the heart of God

You can rest in his love

Sometimes you might feel that God doesn’t care

And there isn’t any hope

But it’s at those desperate times

That He’s working for you the most

Give God thanks in everything

Keep your eyes on His face

He’ll help you fight the battle

So you can win life’s race

Please don’t ever feel

That God is distant and aloof

Don’t wonder if He really cares

And has the time for you

Don’t see yourself as insignificant

Not worthy to come before God

Afraid your stains are too deep to clean

These shortcomings you are guilty of

And don’t feel as though you’re not worthy

To dine at His table of Grace

Nor even to gather the scraps that fall

Nor look upon His loving face

For surely Christ’s blood will wash you

You will be whiter than snow

Don’t see yourself as unworthy

A tiny speck that no one knows

For that only belittles the value

Of Jesus Christ’s spilled blood

It’s through His blood that He frees you

And shows you how much He loves

Remember not the former things

The mistakes that were in the past

Behold, God will do a new thing

And He will capture your heart

So don’t feel afraid to draw near

Nor feel you have no worth

Jesus’ blood was shed just for you

He’ll grant you a new birth

For if in the Father’s care

You place each day that you live

You’ll always know His inner peace

And the grace He freely gives

Come enjoy His presence

And let Him hear you sing

The new song He has given you

For to Him you are everything!

Then Jesus’ light can radiate in you

Like a beacon in the night

No longer groping in the darkness

But shining forth God’s light

And tomorrow will not be the same

You will have an inner peace you don’t understand

And when your time on this earth comes to an end

Before Him you will victoriously stand!
